A man filmed riding his scooter through the snow along Deerfoot Trail now has a newer, warmer, set of wheels.
Diedrich Penner picked up a 2010 Dodge Charger on Saturday from a used car dealer, a week after video of his risky ride made the rounds on social media.
"Risking your life, driving down the Deerfoot on a scooter in the snow was something that we wanted to reach out and help someone with," said Automaxx manager Chris Thin.

Penner has a vehicle, but shares the car with his mother, and was often left with only his scooter to get around, despite the snow.
Having something a little more reliable will make life easier, said Penner.
"I'm totally excited from the bottom of my soul," he said.
"Just a huge sense of excitement, joy, a sense of security and a bright outlook for the future."
A GoFundMe page was also set up by Virgin Radio personality Tyler Hall, raising $6,865 of its $15,000 goal.
Hall has said the money will be used to cover insurance and gas costs.
