Matin Hamid Ahmet, 21, arrested late Wednesday, say Calgary police
A man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a Calgary teenager whose body was found Monday in a remote area near Morley, Alta.
Matin Hamid Ahmet, 21, was arrested late Wednesday in the death of Ezzulddin Al-Ogaidi, 17.
Calgary police say Ahmet is charged with manslaughter, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm without a licence and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.
Ezzulddin's father, Naser Al-Ogaidi, says a detective earlier told him a friend of his son's was playing with a gun that accidentally went off when his son got shot.
On Wednesday, he told CBC News that he didn't believe that story.

Through the translator, Naser described his son as a happy teen who loved sports and said his teenager was not involved with drugs or gangs.
Naser came to Canada from Iraq in February 2011 with his wife and four children, however he and his wife divorced soon after, and he returned to his homeland in August 2012, while his wife and children stayed.
Police believe the homicide happened in Monterey Park in northeast Calgary and that Al-Ogaidi's body was then moved to where it was found.
They began investigating last Friday, when there were reports of a gunshot at a house in the northeast community of Monterey Park. They found nothing suspicious.
Then a tip about a possible homicide the next day led police to an address in Dover, in southeast Calgary, where investigators took three men into custody.
Three other men — Ahmed Abid, 24, Mohammed Khalil, 28, and Ashraf Ajil, 23 — have all been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Abid pleaded guilty last year to assault and theft under $5,000. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and two years probation.
They are set to appear in court along with Matin Hamid Ahmet on Thursday.
Police recovered firearms during their investigation, but have yet to work out whether they were used to kill Al-Ogaidi.
Missing witness
Investigators are still trying to locate a woman believed to be a witness in the case.
Kasetta Marshall, 19, is described as five foot two inches tall, with a medium build, black hair and hazel eyes. She has a tattoo on her left collarbone and a diamond stud above her left lip, police say.
There is a warrant for her arrest on unrelated matters.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information about Al-Ogaidi's killing to contact the homicide unit's tip line at 403-428-98877 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
