Sean Kelly pleads not guilty to making an indecent phone call to another victim
A suspended police officer who was found guilty last year of making an indecent phone call to a young woman faces a second charge of making an indecent phone call to a different woman.
Sean Kelly, a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officer, had a court appearance in provincial court in Corner Brook Tuesday for making an indecent call to a second woman on October 15, 2012.
Kelly was not present in court, but his lawyer previously entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf on the second charge.
The matter was set over until March 2017.
Kelly was found guilty of making an indecent phone call as well as a mischief charge in April 2015.
He was sentenced to 10 months in jail but appealed the decision.
He had an appeal hearing in Supreme Court in September but the results are not yet known. Justice David Hurley said he would issue his written decision in "due course."
The second charge of making an indecent phone call is pending on the result of his appeal hearing for the first charge.
Kelly is currently suspended without pay.
