Competition for the FINA short-course swimming competition kicked off in Windsor on Tuesday, following a lively opening ceremonies that brought out 4,000 people to the WFCU Centre.
Officials from Swimming Canada say the Windsor competition will be a preview of what's to come for the next Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.
Swimming Canada president Cheryl Gibson said she can feel the buzz around the city with athletes and coaches visiting from more than 170 countries.
"It really gives you that tingly feeling when you see the whole world come to your country," she said.
