Brakes failed on minivan, say police
A 39-year-old man faces $850 in fines after hitting a corner store in Charlottetown with his vehicle, say police — for failing to have proper inspection documents and insurance.
The brakes failed on the man's Dodge Grand Caravan on Saturday night near the intersection of Euston St., Weymouth St. and Longworth Ave. — commonly known as Ken's Corner, police said.
The minivan hit the side of the Needs Convenience Store, shattering a window and causing about $2,000 damage, according to police.
