Santa, Minnie Mouse, Winnipeg police and First Nations chiefs joined forces Thursday in Winnipeg to serve pancakes and raise money for MMIW.
The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs is hosting its second annual Our Lives Are Sacred pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Indian and Métis Friendship Centre.
The event, in partnership with the Winnipeg Police Service, raises money from sponsors and a silent auction.
The funds are then donated to the Families First Foundation, an organization that helps the families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
