5 packages sent to 5 separate businesses
Two of the three people arrested after a number of suspicious packages were sent to Saskatoon businesses have been released.
Originally, two women and a man faced numerous charges after five suspicious packages were sent to downtown and north end businesses on Tuesday.
The packages contained a mysterious white powder and put parts of the city in lock down as emergency responders prepared for the worst.
- White powder scare in Saskatoon likely linked to criminal harassment case
- 3 in custody as suspicious packages identified as baking soda, talcum powder
However, police have now determined a man and woman involved in delivering the packages didn't know the contents of the envelopes.
Police have charged a woman named Alexa Amanda Emerson (also known as Amanda May Totchek), with Public Mischief, Mischief and Utter Threats to Cause Bodily Harm. Emerson is well known to police and the incident may be linked to an ongoing criminal harassment case.
On Tuesday, crews were sent to three businesses downtown and another two by the airport.
In the end, the powder proved to be talcum powder and baking soda.
