An Edmonton family is $7 million richer after winning the inaugural top prize of the new lotto game called Daily Grand.
"My wife and I have worked hard all our lives and made sacrifices for our family. But we've haven't had much extra," said Suryanarayana Bora in a news release.
Bora purchased the $9 ticket at the Petro-Canada gas station at 895 Tamarack Way in southeast Edmonton.
He won the game's top prize of $1,000 a day for life in the Nov. 10 draw, but chose to take his prize as a $7 million one-time payment, it was announced Friday.
Bora said his first plan will be to pay off the mortgage on his home, along with all his other bills.
"I'm just so happy to know that I will be able to take care of my family — now and in the years to come," he said.
