Newfoundland and Labrador reported Canada's lowest homicide rate last year, according to Statistics Canada.
A new report(external link) says based on police reports, three homicides occurred in the province in 2015 — one more than the previous year.
Still, the rate of 0.57 homicides per 100,000 people in 2015 was the lowest among all provinces and territories.
StatsCan says police services across the country reported 604 homicides in total in 2015, 83 more than the previous year.
Saskatchewan reported the highest rate at 3.79 homicides per 100,000 people.
