Messages only appear when sidewalks are wet
The City of Charlottetown has launched a new project to make its streets a little more positive.
The Rainworks project is a collection of messages — seven of them — painted on sidewalks around the city that will appear when it rains.
"We really just wanted people to feel good when they're walking out in the rain," said Jessica Brown, sustainability outreach coordinator with the city.
"It's like a cold, gray day and their head's down, and they see a nice little message that reminds them to be kind, or be optimistic. Look on that bright side."
The messages say things like "Find your silver lining" and "Think outside the box." The total cost of the project was about $150.
Brown said the spray wears off after six to eight weeks, but the city will consider doing it again in the spring.
