Pedestrian dies 9 days after he was hit by car on Memorial Drive

No charges will be laid after 54-year-old man ran across road into path of oncoming car

A pedestrian who ran across Memorial Drive and was hit by a car on Nov. 10 has died from his injuries.
Police said the collision took place at 6 a.m. at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Fourth Street N.E. when a 54-year-old man ran into the path of an oncoming car, which was driven by a 38-year-old man.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital in what was considered serious but non-life-threatening condition. He succumbed to his injuries Nov. 19, said police.
The driver of the car had a green light when the accident occurred and the police said neither speed nor alcohol were considered factors in the collision.
No charges will be laid.
