Garage destroyed, but damage to exterior of house only
An observant neighbour and quick action by the Murray River Fire Department helped save a house from fire Monday, say RCMP on P.E.I.
The fire started late Monday afternoon in a garage close to the home, on Route 324 in Peters Road, P.E.I. Police said a neighbour has quick to call the fire department to report the blaze.
The garage was totally destroyed by the fire, but only the exterior of the home was damaged.
The fire marshal has determined the fire was accidental, likely caused by a wood stove in the garage that had been burning most of the day.
