Police have advised driver be re-tested to retain licence
An 83-year-old driver will have to be re-tested for her driver's licence after driving her car into the side of a building in Summerside, P.E.I., according to police.
The Summerside detachment got the call about the accident at Lights Smoke Shop on Granville Street around 9:15 Sunday morning.
Police aren't sure what happened, but said they believe the woman may have pumped the gas instead of the brake. The window, door and bricks on the building were smashed in.
Island EMS checked out the driver and her passenger, and said no one was injured.
No charges have been laid, but a message has been sent to Access PEI to have the driver re-tested, police said.
