The diverse talents of newcomers to Saskatoon will be celebrated at a showcase of international artisans on Nov. 19.

Held by the Saskatoon Open Door Society, the bazaar will feature arts, crafts and food from 20 countries.
Empowering newcomers
The society's executive director, Ali Abukar, said the event is a one-of-a-kind celebration.
"To make something with your own hands and have others appreciate it is very empowering," he said.
"It fits with our mandate of cultural bridging and ensuring our clients' integration in the community."
Nigerian and Filipino jewellery will be among the items for sale, along with Syrian baklava and other home-cooked food from Mexico, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Live entertainment will be a new addition to the 2016 event.
It takes place at Station 20, which is located at 1120 20th Street W. The bazaar runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST.
Admission and parking are free.
