St. Boniface councillor concerned about daylight saving time

Coun. Matt Allard wants to know whether one-hour time change poses 'safety risk'

First, he was concerned about self-driving cars.
Now, Coun. Matt Allard wants to know whether daylight saving time is harming Winnipeggers.
The St. Boniface councillor has authored a motion calling on the city to determine "whether there is a safety risk to the public stemming from fatigued drivers the morning after daylight savings time."
The motion, which comes before Riel community committee on Tuesday, asks the public works committee to have city traffic experts look at collision data in Winnipeg "as far back as is appropriate."
In July, Allard authored a motion asking city staff to look into the land-use, traffic, planning, parking and policing implications of self-driving vehicles.
