Three other people were taken to hospital, including a man with severe burns
Crews have discovered a body in a Coventry Hills house destroyed by fire early on Saturday.
EMS spokesperson Adam Loria said the fire broke out around 2 a.m. in Coventry Hill on the 100-block of Coverton Heights N.E.
When crews arrived, the house had already partially collapsed.
Four people were inside the home at the time of the fire. Three managed to escape.
After the fire was extinguished, crews searched the house to locate a missing resident and found a body inside the home shortly before noon. The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.
A middle-aged man was also seriously injured, said Loria, suffering from smoke inhalation and potentially life-threatening burns.
Two other residents, a middle-aged woman and a woman in her late teens or early 20s, were treated for minor injuries.
Family friend Sandie Caywood said a couple and their adult daughter lived in the home.
"They've got huge support in the community and with their friends and family, it's just a matter of us all being there for them," she said.
A neighbouring home also sustained damage from the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
