The idea of biweekly garbage pickup will come up at city hall again Wednesday, but if you blink, you'll miss it.
City council will likely ratify a decision last week to hire a consultant to survey people about waste collection. That survey will include asking people what they think of only having garbage collection every two weeks.
Unless city councillors pluck the subject from a list and debate it, it won't be discussed. But it will formalize the decision to ask the question.
The idea of biweekly garbage pickup has been debated multiple times at city hall over the years. In 2011, a report recommended weekly recycling and green bin collection while making garbage collection every two weeks.
Also on the agenda:
Hamilton's billboards are about to get a lot flashier. The city will ratify making a dozen of its billboards digital, with LED lights.
This plan includes billboards at Main and Dundurn, and on Limeridge Road East. Outfront Media, which experienced some controversy in Hamilton earlier this year, will sell the ads for them.
