Students sent home from the Charlottetown school for the day
Nothing unusual or suspicious has been found after a search of École François-Buote by Charlottetown Police after students were sent home for the day.
The school was evacuated Wednesday morning and all students and staff are safe, said a statement from the French Language School Board.
School buses took students where they are usually dropped off at 1:30 and parents who wished to get their children could pick them up before that.
A bomb threat was received by RCMP in Ottawa by fax shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday said police in a statement.
Erring on side of caution
There have been no threats reported at any other Prince Edward Island schools today, said a statement from the French Language School Board.
The threat was similar to the threats that were received in September when all P.E.I. schools were evacuated. While the police felt the bomb threat was unfounded, it erred on the side of caution and took all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of students and staff said police in a release.
