Head-on crash in August killed chef Jonathan Sobol and web developer Alec Bracegirdle
A southern Alberta man has been fined $233 for a crash in August that killed two men from Calgary.
The man, who was driving a rented truck, tried to pass a tractor-trailer on Highway 9 near Irricana and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Calgary chef Jonathan Sobol, 33, and web content designer Alec Bracegirdle, 20, died in the crash.
RCMP say the man responsible was fined for passing on the left with an obstructed view, however he did nothing wrong under the Criminal Code.
Friends of the victims say the small fine does not do them justice.
