New entrance route to popular ice cream factory gets "Cow-ified" name
People visiting Cow's Creamery on Capital Drive in Charlottetown will soon be entering via the Milky Way.
That will be the new name for the entranceway to the store, approved by city council this week.
With a new roundabout going in, a name for the entrance was needed.
Whitney Hooper, Cows' director of sales and marketing, said when the CEO mentioned the opportunity to give the entrance an official name, staff quickly started thinking of pun-filled names.
"We definitely wanted to do something clever and fun," said Hooper. "That's kind of how we roll here at Cow's I guess. And we always love the opportunity to Cow-ify something, so the street name was the same.
"When we've mentioned it to people everybody gets a little chuckle and kind of the same reaction they get whenever they're looking at our shirts in the store. So that's what we were going for."
Hooper says the Milky Way was suggested by a summer student, and staff immediately loved the idea.
