Longer vehicles may wish to avoid traffic circle from Oct. 17 to 21 as it gets a small curb
The Stanley Bridge roundabout will be the site of construction for much of next week, as the previously paint-only roundabout gets a small curb.
The provincial government said in a release Friday that the crews will install a mountable curb from Oct. 17 to 21.
Longer vehicles will have to be careful when using the roundabout during that time, and drivers hauling trailers "may wish to consider" a different route, the province said. It won't be possible for the rear wheels of trailers to travel across the centre island.
"Once the project is complete the Stanley Bridge roundabout can be used as designed, with the rear wheels of trucks and trailers able to travel across the centre island," the release said.
York Bridge being replaced
In other construction news, traffic on Route 25 in York will need to use temporary roads as crews replace the York Bridge.
Signage will be in place to guide traffic around the construction.

The province warns that drivers should allow for additional time to go through the Pleasant Grove Road/Hardy Mill Road/ York Road intersection, and that travellers to and from Charlottetown may wish to use alternative routes such as Union Road, Guernsey Road, and Brackley Point Road to the west and Suffolk Road (Route 222) to the east.
The new bridge is expected to open in early December.
