Calgary councillor Jim Stevenson doesn't plan to seek re-election in 2017

Representative of Ward 3 was first elected to city council in 2007 but is now eyeing other opportunties

Coun. Jim Stevenson says it's unlikely he will seek re-election in next fall's municipal election.
Stevenson has represented Ward 3 in northeast Calgary since 2007.
He has technically registered as a candidate for the 2017 vote, but says he hasn't done any fundraising and doesn't plan to — at least not for the time being.
If he changes his mind, he said he'd be able to raise funds quickly and mount a campaign, but that's not his intention right now.
Stevenson said he's eyeing other opportunities once he completes his term next October, but he wouldn't elaborate on what those are.
