RCMP asking public and businesses to check source of quahogs being sold
Police are looking for information on a report of 12,000 quahogs stolen from Hickey's Wharf in Websters Corner, P.E.I.
A shellfish harvester reported between 35 and 40 bags of quahogs being stored in mesh bags of various colours along the shoreline were stolen.
There were about 12,000 shellfish in the bags, estimated to be valued at $1,950.
RCMP said the theft happened between 5 p.m. Oct. 12 and 10 a.m. Oct. 13.
Police are asking the public and business community to determine the source of any quahogs being sold, and to contact them with any information.
