The lineup for the 2016 Windsor International Film Festival includes Oscar contenders, live reads and local talent.
Vincent Georgie, the festival's executive director, spoke about the upcoming festival Thursday, detailing what viewers could expect.
"Some of the films are just fantastic. We have films from 22 different countries, lots of strong stuff," Georgie told CBC's Lisa Xing. "We have a lot of star power too. We have one film we love, called Manchester By The Sea which is going to be an Oscar contender."
The festival will also feature local films. One is Migrant Dreams which tells the story of migrant workers in Leamington and the conditions in which they live and work.
"More and more these are stories about ourselves, about what is going on in our community, the people and families in our community and it really stood out to us," he said. "We're very proud to show those films."
"The local scene this year is really interesting."
And the cult classics Reservoir Dogs and Juno will be live-read on stage.
'There will be a lot of fun having those performed for us, they will be quite special," Georgie said. "These engaging experiences are what make our festival special and distinguished."
WIFF runs Nov. 1 through to Nov. 6.
