Finished spaces will be judged and auctioned off at annual event
Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Island will hold its second design challenge, RePurpose for a Purpose, to help raise funds to help people become homeowners.
Design teams will take pre-selected packages of furniture and items from Habitat for Humanity's ReStore to arrange in a 10-by-10-foot space at the Oct. 22 gala at Memorial Hall in the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
"This event combines the excitement of live competition. Think art battle, with the ever-popular hobby of do-it-yourself design and refinishing," said Becky Mullen, Habitat PEI's executive director in a press release.
"This event is for arts and culture lovers, for do-it-yourselfers, for ReStore shoppers, workshop havers, and project lovers."
The teams can repurpose or refinish the items any way they want.
The finished spaces will be completed at the gala and then judged and auctioned off. The proceeds will assist with house building efforts in 2017.
