The City of St. John's is looking for help in finding a solution to affordable housing.
The newly-launched catalyst housing fund will allow the city to work collaboratively with community groups, builders and developers to facilitate and plan housing solutions.
"Affordable housing is a critical issue for the City of St. John's," a press release from the city stated.
"We want St. John's to be a vibrant, inclusive and thriving city with a wide range of affordable housing options that contribute directly to community health, sustainable growth and economic security."
Anyone with an affordable housing project or program idea can apply for up to $10,000 per project through an application on the City's website.
Areas of priority, according to the City, include seniors' housing, affordable rentals, mixed use or medium density projects, Brownfield and vacant lot redevelopment, and energy efficient retrofits.
Proposals are due Oct. 31 and must be in line with the affordable housing business plan.
