Shalyn Sabine found 300 metres from Prince County Hospital
Shalyn Sabine, 39, reported missing in Summerside on Monday, has been found alive about 300 metres from the Prince County Hospital in a field, according to police.
"She appeared cold, scared, but she was awake and she was able to answer some basic questions for us," said Det. Cpl. Jennifer Driscoll.
It appears Sabine spent the night outside, said Driscoll, however she said that hasn't been confirmed.
Sabine was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
GSAR, RCMP, volunteers helped with search
Driscoll said Sabine is married with three children. Her family also took part in the search.
Police thanked Ground Search and Rescue, the RCMP, Sabine's family and the volunteers who helped with the search.
"It's just amazing how many people came out to help and the community support — lots of people calling in tips," said Driscoll.
"We're just happy to have her back and she's safe."
Search began early Monday morning
Police had said Sabine left the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Monday, and there were concerns for her safety.
Police and ground search and rescue searched the city on foot to find her. Police had also used a drone and a helicopter as part of the search.
