Halifax RCMP confirm five people have been arrested in connection to the homicide of Tylor Donovan McInnis, 26.
Sources told CBC News that four adults and one youth have been arrested.
McInnis's body was found by police in the trunk of a stolen Honda Civic at the cemetery of St. Thomas Baptist Church in North Preston in August. He was the victim of a homicide, RCMP confirmed following an autopsy.
Police have not disclosed how McInnis died. They said they were looking into connections between this homicide and a string of shooting deaths that took place in the Halifax area this spring. Police said they didn't believe McInnis's death was a random act.
McInnis was the father of a seven-year-old daughter and two-year-old daughter. He was also helping to raise his girlfriend's 17-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter.
There have been nine homicides in the Halifax area this year.
