Victim was stabbed April 18, died on July 1
Homicide detectives are asking for the public's help as they probe the death of a 49-year-old who died July 1, nearly three months after he was stabbed downtown.
Police were called to a disturbance in the 200 block of 15th Avenue S.W. about 1 a.m. on April 18 where they saw a group of people fighting. The group was unco-operative with police and refused to provide statements.
About an hour later, officers were called to the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre a few blocks away in relation to a stabbing victim. Police later determined the victim had walked there from the earlier altercation.
Hebern Donald Marsden, 49, remained in hospital in critical condition until he died July 1.
Police believe the stabbing was targeted and anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
