ATV driver seriously injured in collision on highway

The cause of a collision between a car and an all-terrain vehicle on a highway in western P.E.I. is under investigation by RCMP.
The collision happened about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 142 in Knutsford.
The 54-year-old man driving the ATV was seriously injured. RCMP said he was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to Prince County Hospital for treatment.
The three people in the car did not have any injuries that required medical attention.
The highway was closed for several hours while a collision analyst investigated.
