Prince George, Princess Charlotte turn heads at children's party

Day 6 is quiet on royal itinerary, with children's party and family time this afternoon
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were the centre of attention this morning as the Royal Family hosted a children's party at Government House in Victoria.
While the guest list for the private affair was low key — military families who have loved ones deployed on land, sea and air missions — it was also highly anticipated by the British media, who have been expressing concerns they haven't seen enough of the youngest royals at home or abroad recently.
It was not the first play date for George and Charlotte, though. The youngsters reportedly made a surprise visit to one of Victoria's most popular children's attractions Tuesday while their parents were away on official duties.
Petting goats at the Beacon Hill Children's Farm is always a hit with kids of all ages — and the prince and princess were no exception. The highlight for George was reportedly 17-year-old Peg, the farm's oldest goat.
The young royals were taken to the popular attraction by their nanny while the William and Kate were away on an overnight trip to Kelowna and Whitehorse.
While the visit was a secret, news did leak out on social media posts that were quickly deleted.
Charlotte and George aren't officially scheduled to make any more public appearances during their visit, but a boat trip on Saturday afternoon and the official departure could be the best chance to see the whole family.
Quiet day for family
After the party, the family has private time scheduled in the afternoon and won't be making a public appearance.
On Friday, William and Kate are scheduled to fly to Haida Gwaii for the day.
On Saturday, they wrap up their trip by visiting some Victoria charities in the morning. Then around noon, they will board a tall ship and sail to Victoria's Inner Harbour, before saying their official good-byes to the public and departing by float plane.
