'Tex' MacDonald among P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame inductees

Thane Campbell, Bill Purcell and 1977 baseball team also being honoured

Ian "Tex" MacDonald was announced Thursday as one of the inductees into the P.E.I. Sports Hall of Fame for 2016.
MacDonald will be honoured for his contributions in both softball and football.
Others to be inducted into the Hall of Fame are the late Thane Campbell, for helping to build the sport of curling on P.E.I., long-time hockey coach Bill Purcell, and the 1977 P.E.I. Islanders baseball team.
The induction ceremony will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at Credit Union Place in Summerside, P.E.I.
