Construction crew cut through underground cables Saturday, leaving some without TV, internet and phone
There's been no Netflix marathons for some southeast Calgary Telus customers this weekend.
The Vancouver-based company says it all started Saturday.
"Yesterday a construction crew working in the area cut through nine underground Telus cables. Our crews have been on site working through the night and around the clock to restore service as quickly as possible," Shawn Hall said.
"This is an extensive repair. Our crews have managed to restore service to about 85 per cent of affected customers."
Some customers were without phone service, cable television or internet for parts of Saturday and early Sunday.

A Riverbend resident was without service from about noon Saturday until Sunday morning at around 8:30 a.m.
"Basically it shut down absolutely everything," Susan Barthelette told CBC News.
"My son had some research to do and was unable to complete his project since everything nowadays is Googled. There was no TV or Netflix. Very quiet around here."
Barthelette said she was most disappointed with how Telus responded.
"I couldn't seem to get any answers until I was able to get access to Wi-Fi/Internet at a friend's house to see what the problem was. Not impressed with Telus that they couldn't even inform customers that there was a problem."
Hall says Telus is on track to have all customers restored by Sunday evening.
"We know how important services are and we are working around the clock to get services restored as quickly as possible," he said.
