Money from P.E.I. government announced in June
ACOA will help P.E.I.'s Basin View Seafood with improvements to its live lobster holding facility, which will expand export opportunities for the company.
Money from the provincial government was announced in June.
The money went for upgrading recirculation technology in its holding tank.
"The purchase of this energy efficient equipment has allowed us to more than double our live lobster holding capacity, giving us the ability to meet increasing local market demands as well as our growing export opportunities across the country," said Basin View Seafood president Mitch Jollimore.
ACOA provided a loan of $42,650 for the upgrades. That is in addition to a $67,000 loan and $8.530 grant from the province in June.
