April 2015 altercation led to firearm being discharged
RCMP say charges have been laid against a Stettler man after another man was shot more than a year ago.
An altercation on a Stettler property on April 7, 2015 escalated and a firearm was discharged, police said in a release Monday.
The male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the suspect fled the scene.
After a 17-month investigation police took the suspect into custody in Innisfail on Friday.
The 29-year-old is facing a charge of attempted murder with a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in a Stettler court Sept. 22.
Stettler is about 75 kilometres east of Red Deer.
