ERIN, ON—In the small village of Erin, few people are as beloved as delightful local mom Meredith Cheeseman.
"Mrs. Cheeseman is just lovely," says neighbour Al Ernst. "Always so pleasant, cheerful, and friendly. Last weekend she swung by my place just to drop off a homemade pumpkin pie for my kids. Who does that? So kind."

Between general acts of kindness, and her involvement in the community, Cheeseman truly seems to be one of Erin's most well-known and respected locals.
"She's constantly putting on volunteer events and fundraisers. Always helping out. And always with a warm smile," says local Carrie McMichael.
Despite all this, there is one thing about Mrs. Cheeseman that some locals find somewhat disconcerting.
"I guess if I had to pick one thing about Meredith that I find a bit weird, it would be that she does seem to be strangely well-versed in the Satanist teachings of Anton Lavey," Ernst discloses.
Anton Lavey was the founder of the Church of Satan, and the author of numerous texts including The Satanic Bible and Satanic Ritual.
McMichael agrees that Cheeseman does seem to be oddly preoccupied with Lavey.
"Meredith will just bring up Anton Lavey out of nowhere," McMichael explains. "You'll be having a nice chat about the weather, and suddenly she'll say something like, 'Well, you know what Anton Lavey says – there is a beast in man. Cursed are the God adorers, for they shall be shorn sheep.'"
"I bumped into Meredith in the park one day last summer, and she spent 25 minutes explaining The Nine Satanic Statements to me," said Ernst. "All I wanted was directions to the bathroom."
It remains unclear how Mrs. Cheeseman became so familiar with Laveyan Satanism, but sources say she has repeatedly alluded to having an on-again, off-again relationship with a charismatic bald man in the '70s.
