Forget Hallowe'en — for Lethbridge, Alta. artist Shanell Papp(external link), horror is a daily necessity. Her large-scale knitted works will fascinate you while simultaneously creeping you out, and her studio is a place you'd probably want to visit using the buddy system.
Intrepid filmmaker Josh Wong(external link) visited Papp while she worked on a piece for her new exhibition, Based on a True Story, which runs at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum(external link) in Estevan, Sask this month. While he was there, Papp opened up about why it's important to her to create stories and creatures that frighten even her.
