Early season is open to Sept. 19
Goose hunters on P.E.I. can get a start on their sport Tuesday with the opening of the early September goose hunt.
The early September season was introduced in 2013, when the Canadian Wildlife Service determined a growing Canada goose population could support more hunting.
The early season will remain open until Sept. 19, with a bag limit of eight birds.
Regular season for geese opens Oct. 1. There is a bag limit of five to Nov. 14, and three from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31.
