3 search warrants executed in last week of August net 56 charges
A massive drug trafficking investigation by police and RCMP has resulted in seven Calgary residents facing 56 charges but police say it could be just the tip of the iceberg.
The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) said Thursday three search warrants resulted in the arrests between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30.
"ALERT's investigation targeted street-level drug sales in the city with quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine being seized," the agency said in a release.
"ALERT believes these individuals are part of a larger criminal organization and more charges and arrests are expected in the coming weeks."
