P.E.I. wages continue to grow quickly

Wages still lowest in the country

Wages on P.E.I. are growing at a rate well above the national rate, but still rank as the lowest the country.
The average weekly wage on P.E.I. in June, according to a recent report from Statistics Canada, was $826.95, well below the national average of $958.14. The next lowest wage in the country was in Nova Scotia, where it was $845.16.
On the plus side wages were up 1.9 per cent since June of 2015, the third highest increase amongst the provinces, and well above the national average of 0.49 per cent. Nationally the rate was dragged down by a large decrease in Alberta.
