Parade launches August long weekend for many Islanders
P.E.I.'s Gold Cup Parade, the largest parade in Atlantic Canada, was held under beautiful sunny skies Friday.
The theme for this year's parade was Everything P.E.I.
The parade had children smiling all along the route.
The warm weather was a challenge for some of the parade participants.
Inflatables are a part of every major parade and the Gold Cup Parade was no exception.
The parade included floats from businesses and organizations across P.E.I., and attracted marching bands from around the region.
A section of North River Road closed early as floats prepared for the parade.
