A second arrest has been made in the homicide of Kori Wesley, whose body was found near the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds on Aug. 7, Cochrane RCMP said in a release Friday.
Police picked up a 17-year-old suspect in Red Deer, who was wanted on a warrant, with the help of police dogs Thursday.
The youth — who can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act — is currently in custody until a judicial interim release hearing can be held.
Previously, a 20-year-old Stoney Nakoda First Nation man was arrested Sunday and has been charged with second-degree murder in the incident. He is scheduled to appear in Cochrane court on Tuesday.
Stoney Nakoda First Nation is about 50 kilometres west of Calgary.
