24-year-old man injured after 'minor explosion' at Spring Valley, P.E.I. business

A 24 year-old-man is injured after what RCMP describe as a "minor explosion" at a business in Spring Valley, P.E.I. Thursday just after 11:00 a.m.
The employee was transported to Prince County Hospital by Island EMS for treatment. The man's injuries were serious but not life threatening according to an RCMP news release.
Two Occupational Health and Safety officers with The Workers Compensation Board of P.E.I. are investigating what happened.
East Prince RCMP responded to the 911 call as well, but the board is doing the investigation.
Maritime Precast Products confirmed there was a work-related explosion Thursday.
Maritime Precast Products is still operating and conducting its own investigation as well. The company makes custom made concrete products for the Atlantic Canada market according to its website.(external link)
The board expects the investigation to wrap up at the end of next week.
