Josh Burgess was denied bail Wednesday and ordered to stand trial in the death of his wife, Shannon Madill, whose remains were found months after she went missing at the home the coupled shared.
Burgess, 30, was arrested in July 2015 and charged with second-degree murder.
Madill, 25, was reported missing on Dec. 1, 2014, after she failed to show up for a family event the day before.
Days later, the family of the Calgary actress issued a plea for her to contact them or for the public's help in locating her.
"We all love you and we miss you so much," her sister, Erin Madill, said at the time.
Seven months later, police discovered her remains at the home in the 1900 block of Spiller Road S.E. that she shared with Burgess.

Burgess was ordered to remain in custody until his next court date.
A date for the trial has not yet been set.
