Tour starts in Morell and goes to East Point, Cornwall, Summerside and North Cape
If you're out on the road Saturday, don't be surprised if you see something unusual in your rear-view mirror.
Dozens of hot rods and vintage cars from as far away as Ontario are touring the Island as part of the P.E.I. Power Tour.
Organizer Scott Profit, who has 1980 Chevy Silverado two-tone beige truck, said it's different from a traditional car show, because people are actually driving them.
For the love of driving
"It's not for the show for other people, really it's for the experience for the participants," he said. "We're giving them the opportunity to actually get in their car and drive it, and that's really what people get in to cars for, I believe, is the pleasure of driving them, right?"
The route begins at Holy Cow restaurant in Morell. The cars will then head up the coastal route to the East Point lighthouse. Then they will backtrack and stop in Cornwall and Summerside and later in the day make their way to North Cape.
It's the first year for the P.E.I. Power Tour, but Profit said he hopes to make it an annual event.
