Police have released surveillance footage of the assault
York police are hoping the public can help investigators identify a man caught tossing his coffee at a TTC bus driver last month.
Police released surveillance video, which shows the suspect interacting with the driver on the 105 Dufferin North bus route at Dufferin Street and Dufferin Hill Drive in Vaughan on June 8.
Police say the bus driver recognized the man from an earlier incident, during which he alleges he was verbally abusive and stole a transfer as he got off the bus.
The bus driver told the suspect to get off the bus, according to police, but he allegedly refused, walking to the back.
The driver refused to move the bus until the man got off, at which time the video shows the suspect walk to the front of the bus and throw his coffee at the driver.
The bus driver was not injured, but police are hoping the public will recognize the suspect.
Police describe him the suspect as:
- Male, white
- 5'10", medium build
- Short, dark-coloured hair
- Wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt, dark-coloured pants, white running shoes and sunglasses
- Carrying a black and white patterned handbag and a silver thermal travel mug
