P.E.I. retail sales up for 7th straight month

Sales up 4.4 per cent over last May

Retail sales on P.E.I. were up in May for the seventh straight month, according to recently released figures by Statistics Canada.
Sales for the month, seasonably adjusted, were $180,221,000.
Looking back over the last year, sales from May to October of 2015 moved up and down but overall were flat. But they were up in November, and have increased in every month since.
Sales are up 4.4 per cent on P.E.I. since May of last year. By comparison, they were up 3.6 per cent nationally.
