19-year-old Calgary man is facing multiple firearm related charges
Police have charged a Calgary man in an attack that left a senior in hospital with serious injuries earlier this month, police said in a release Wednesday.
Police responded to the 100 block of 2nd Avenue S.E. July 8 around 8:30 a.m.
They found an 83-year-old man lying in an alley. He was transported to hospital with critical injuries.
Although he's still in hospital, he is now in stable condition.
Police say a tip from the public led them to the suspect Tuesday, who was found with almost four grams of cocaine and a fake gun.
A search warrant executed Wednesday in the 200 block of Doverview Crescent S.E. found a loaded 38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver.
The 19-year-old suspect is facing a charge of aggravated assault and multiple firearm related charges and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
