Wildrose leads fundraising in second quarter as PCs fall far behind

The Wildrose party received almost half a million dollars in political donations since April 1

Alberta's Wildrose party is leading the pack in fundraising, collecting 17 times more in political donations than the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta since April.
The Wildrose party collected $467,131 in political donations from April 1 to June 30, according to recently-released second quarter results. The PCs raised $27,376, a steep drop from the $105,436 raised in the first quarter, from Jan. 1 to March 31.
The Wildrose party exceeded their first quarter results, in which the party raised $448,912 in political donations between Jan. 1 to March 31.
The NDP came in second for most money raised, taking in $363,824 this quarter, a slight drop from the $398,843 raised in the first quarter. The Alberta Liberal Party raised $57,561 this quarter.
July 15 was the deadline for the province's political parties to disclose their fundraising amounts for the second quarter.
