Ghiz's focus to be on enhancing relationships
Former P.E.I. premier Robert Ghiz has been named to the national board of Ducks Unlimited.
"With his background and experience in policy and conservation issues in PEI and across Canada, he will be a wonderful addition to our national team," said Ducks Unlimited president Jim Couch in a news release.
Ghiz was premier of P.E.I. for eight years, elected in 2007 and resigned in February of last year. Last month he joined the international law firm Gowling WLG.
Ghiz said he was excited by the opportunity to join Ducks Unlimited.
"The issues DUC stands for, including clean water, abundant wetlands, and healthy habitats for waterfowl and wildlife are crucial to our country," he said.
Ducks Unlimited said Ghiz's focus would be on enhancing government and corporate relationships.
